Just three days after delivering a top-notch performance, Marcel Risse was forced from a Monday training session after a battle for the ball left him writhing on the ground.
“It was a normal two-fight,” said coach Peter Stöger of the incident. “I didn’t ask about it; I just sent him in.”
Geissblog reports that trainer Thorsten Klopp immediately attended the 25-year-old to bandage his right ankle and get him into the team facility for further treatment.
Shortly after 10 a.m. PST, the club’s official English-language Twitter account issued an update on Risse’s health, which should immediately reduce the panic level over the immediate availability of Planet Effzeh’s most-valuable player from Friday.
