Kicker: Schmadtke is Scouting For Hector Replacement

German football publication Kicker.de has published multiple reports of 1. FC Köln sporting director Jörg Schamadtke scouting potential replacements for Jonas Hector in Denmark, in case the effzeh star should leave his post at left back in Köln for greener pastures next summer.

Ludwig Augustinsson moved from IFK Göteborg of his native Sweden to Danish power FC Copenhagen in January this year, but reportedly has developed so rapidly that he may be ready to move again to a more-prominent league by next summer, despite a contract that runs into 2019.

According to Kicker’s report, first-team director Jörg Jakobs noted Augustinsson’s strong performance for Sweden in this past summer’s U21 European Championship tournament. The online magazine says the 21-year-old is “versatile,” a “technically strong player with good pace,” and has among his skill set the ability to send strong crosses, an eye for making passes to set-up scoring situations, and even can deliver from set pieces, all while carrying a reputation for making few mistakes.

Take a look at some of the Swede’s work since joining Copenhagen in a highlights video with shockingly inoffensive music (which is atypical of YouTube sports highlights videos).

Riza Durmisi currently is under contract with Brondby IF of the Danish Superligaen, though his current deal is set to expire next summer. Having recently changed agents, there is speculation that the 21-year-old rising star is working on a new deal to stay with Brondby.

Described as a “shooting star” for the Danish national team for having been Denmark’s best player in recent matches against Albania and Armenia, Kicker calls Durmisi a fast, technically strong wingback who delivers good crosses.

And, some visual evidence of Durmisi’s skills.
