The 2015-16 Bundesliga season has likely been the most-anticipated season ever for US-based fans of the league and its clubs, thanks to the broadcasting rights moving from an obscure corner of the cable and satellite world to the gigantic and widely available family of Fox nextworks.
As the summer progressed, fans began to grow concerned about a lack of communication from Fox as to how they would deliver the Bundesliga to American viewers. Some of these fears were compounded when preliminary, second-hand reports had the German top-leagues’s games relegated to the lower tiers of Fox’s sports channels, rather than giving them the spotlight most had assumed and hoped would be the case.
Whether those premature reports were inaccurate or Fox simply reacted to the groundswell of negative reaction to the idea of Fox Sports 1 seeing little-to-no Bundesliga action, the official word delivered by the network Thursday has put to rest much of the gravest of concerns.
Fox will show every one of the 306 Bundesliga matches of the 2015-16 campaign between it’s various networks and streaming capacities, which is a first for the league in the United States. 58 will be shown live on Fox Sports 1, and another 60 on Fox Sports 2. Everything else will be shown, at least, via Fox Deportes (Spanish-language) and/or Fox Soccer Plus, either live or on tape delay.
Further, as long as you have those channels in your television package, you will be able to stream all matches via the Fox Sports Go app.
The option for cord-cutters is the Fox Soccer 2 Go online subscription, which will deliver those same streams for either $19.99 per month or $99 for a calendar year, which might seem like a lot, but the package also includes Champions and Europa leagues.
Along with the overall plan, the network announced their schedule for the first seven match days.
Here is when and where you’ll be able to see the 1. FC Köln via Fox in the coming months:
