Just they were treated to a live stream from Poland Saturday of 1. FC Köln’s 0:1 test-match victory at GKS Tychy, club members can happily anticipate two more looks at their beloved effzeh this week, as FC-TV will broadcast the club’s two matches in this year’s Betsafe Cup.
In addition to 1. FC Köln, the four-squad competition includes RCD Espanyol (Barcelona, Spain) of Spain’s La Liga, SC Cambuur (Leeuwarden, Netherlands) of the Dutch Eredivisie, and Kasimpasa (Istanbul, Turkey) of the Süper Lig.
The effzeh will first face 2006-07 UEFA Cup champion RCD Espanyol at 20:00 CET on Wednesday in Kufstein, Austria.
Peter Stöger’s crew will have a short turnaround, with a second match just two days later back in Kitzbühel, facing a squad in SC Cambuur which just accomplished in 2014-15 what Stöger expects his club to do in 2015-16: stay in the top division for a second year after promotion. Kickoff in Kitzbühel is set for 17:00 CET Friday.
As noted last week when the airing of the test in Poland was announced, FC-TV is a members-only service. So, again, it’s a good time to consider becoming an official member of 1. FC Köln. Not only can you see matches like this, but all DFB Pokal and Bundesliga matches are archived in full, as are their highlights packages. The FC-TV team also produces a LOT of quality content all season long, including interviews, press conferences, and training-pitch reports. Even without German-language capabilities, there’s plenty to enjoy!
And now a word from the tournament’s sponsor . . . Don’t gamble or listen to awful techno music, kids!
